Remembering Heidi Schneider

Dear LHSA Friends:

It is with a heavy heart we share news of the passing of Heidi Schneider after a long illness. Heidi is the daughter of Jason Schneider, who is revered in the camera world and is a regular contributor to LHSA's website and social media platforms.

Heidi was a creative spirit who is survived by her two young sons, Nathaniel, age 11 and Abraham, age 2. Her brother, Alex, has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money that will go directly toward the two boys. If you would like to help out Jason's grandchildren, please consider making a donation:

Below is a note from Alex, Heidi's brother:

On Monday,  August 10th a little after 10am, my sister Heidi crossed the threshold. She was surrounded by love through the moment of her passing. Her family will continue to hold her in vigil for the next three days.

Heidi requested we hold a true celebration of life at a later time once the Covid situation has been resolved. This celebration will be planned at a future date, perhaps on her birthday in late March, or perhaps the anniversary of her passing.

Thank you to all of you who have shared your words, prayers and love. Even when Heidi could no longer speak, she could listen, and we lovingly poured your words over her.

We send you love and light as we continue to hold our dear, sister, mother, daughter, partner and friend.

Memorial donations are gratefully accepted and will be used to help support Heidi’s two loving sons Nathaniel (11) and Abraham (2).

A Poem by Heidi Schneider at age 11

I know her, yet not.
She is in my dreams
She is Angel Fairylike with
wings of gold
She cannot listen to what
she’s been told
Yet questions it with ever
love,
    so gentle and so kind.
Yet she demands to know:
“Is the where God and
Heaven lie?
Or is this the road to tick-
ery and lies?”
She lies back and cries
The eternal question
haunts her,
But she is comforted by
Guardian Angels from
above.
Yet she knows one thing
     as she looks at me
     in steady glance,
     her eyes in ever blue,
“I am not from this world,”
she says,
“I’d like to know, are you?”
