9:45-12:00           Shooting Assignment with David Spielman (Greer Rising & Mike Davis Photo walk leaders)

As we all know photography is a great educator! It puts a face on everything from poverty, war, disasters, birth, death, and everything in between. It isn’t just about the equipment; good photographers know how to look. If you don’t look, you won’t see and if you don’t see it, how can you take a picture of it? Enhance your looking/seeing skills as program chair, David Spielman gives us a Spring Shoot assignment and tips for great shooting in downtown Colorado Springs.

12:00-115             Lunch on your own

1:15-2:15              Project-Based Work with Reed Pike

Join awarding winning photographer, Reed Pike in an exploration of how project-based work can inject new challenges and insights into your photographic work. Reed will show us how the discipline of a project focuses your vision on a single subject or group of subjects, requiring you to use all your knowledge and skills and to dive deep into your creativity.

2:15                        Meet in the hotel lobby for bus pickup

2:30-5:30             **Photo Excursion - Garden of the Gods

A short bus ride will take us to the magical Garden of the Gods paradise. During this self-guided exploration, you will be able to photograph dramatic views, 300' towering sandstone rock formations against a backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak and brilliant blue skies. Or you can visit the world-class Visitor & Nature Center and museum, the most visited attraction in the region. If you get hungry, delight in one of Colorado's most photographed views while eating in a glass-enclosed café or from a terrace overlooking Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. (please see note at bottom of page).
